Bilovit Cold-pressed linseed oil is 100% linseed oil – unrefined, unfiltered, cold-pressed in a Polish oil mill. Bilovit own brand. Yellow-gold in colour, with a delicately tart, nutty-bitter flavour. Rich in alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) (omega-3) – for cold dishes.
About the product
Bilovit Cold-pressed linseed oil is 100% oil from common flax seeds (Linum usitatissimum) – unrefined, unfiltered and cold-pressed in a Polish oil mill. Bilovit own brand – great value for money in a large 500 ml bottle.
A yellow-gold colour, a delicately pungent aroma and a slightly bitter, nutty taste – characteristic of cold-pressing without purification. Flaxseed oil is one of the richest sources of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) – an omega-3 fatty acid – containing approximately 55 g per 100 g. This is several dozen times more than the threshold for ‘source of omega-3 fatty acids’ set out in Regulation 1924/2006.

What you should know about ALA
Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), an omega-3 fatty acid, helps maintain normal blood cholesterol levels – this is one of the few health benefits of vegetable oils confirmed by European food regulatory authorities.
To experience the beneficial effects, consume around 2 g of ALA per day – this is roughly the amount found in one tablespoon of linseed oil (or a larger amount of rapeseed oil).
Uses
Oil for cold dishes: salads, raw vegetable salads, sandwich spreads, quark, vegetable smoothies. A classic of the Budwig diet (quark with linseed oil). An addition to porridge, yoghurt, hummus. Not suitable for frying or baking – high temperatures destroy ALA. Vegan.
Directions
Add 1 tablespoon (12 g) to a cold dish just before serving – typically to a salad, quark or smoothie. Directly from a teaspoon – 1–3 teaspoons a day to support omega-3 balance. The taste is slightly bitter – it is easy to balance this in a salad with lemon, honey or herbs.
Storage
Once opened, store in the fridge and use within a month – linseed oil oxidises quickly when exposed to light, heat and air. Keep the bottle tightly closed.
Ingredients
100% cold-pressed linseed oil.
