Wellbear Linseed Oil Cold Pressed - 250 ml

Wellbear Cold-pressed linseed oil is 100% linseed oil – unrefined, unfiltered, cold-pressed in a Polish oil mill. It has a golden-yellow colour and a delicately tangy, nutty-bitter flavour. 250 ml bottle – for use in cold dishes.

About the product

Wellbear Cold-pressed linseed oil is 100% oil from common flax seeds (Linum usitatissimum) – unrefined, unfiltered and cold-pressed in a Polish oil mill.

A golden-yellow colour, a delicately pungent aroma and a slightly bitter, nutty flavour – characteristic of cold-pressing without purification. Linseed oil is a well-known plant-based source of omega-3 fatty acids (in the polyunsaturated group – see table).

Usage

Oil for cold dishes: salads, raw vegetable salads, sandwich spreads, quark, vegetable smoothies. A classic of the Budwig diet (quark with linseed oil). Add to porridge, yoghurt, hummus. Not suitable for frying or baking – high temperatures degrade polyunsaturated fatty acids. Vegan.

Directions for use

Pour 1 tablespoon (12 g) into a cold dish just before serving – typically into a salad, quark or smoothie. Directly from a teaspoon – 1–3 teaspoons a day. The taste is slightly bitter – this is easily balanced in a salad with lemon, honey or herbs.

Storage

Once opened, store in the fridge and use within a month – 250 ml of linseed oil oxidises quickly after opening when exposed to light, heat and air. Keep the bottle tightly closed.
